Hi Sweetie!
Found a box of Shiner Bock (in Indianapolis!) at my local grocery, and immediately thought of you. Upons opening and drinking one at home, old memories of after-hours at Scarborough Faire came flooding back. Very old memories, like back when the locals still thought
is was a giant wildlife preserve, and that the towers were Giraffe-feeders (or that it was a big
pot-farm and that the towers were
machine-gun turrets!).
Your namesake is starting his senior year of college, and has (hooray) decided against law school. Zack is starting high school, and I'm feeling .... well, less young.
Hope you're well, and that we see you soon, or whenever you pass this way again.
Love & hugs,
Diane

I am reading Road Dog Diary.A Trip down memory lane which led to old pictures. I have a whole roll of the last Sumo. What a hoot! Also a close up of you at the sewing machine. Great site. You are one of the special ones. Daughter Chelsea is a freshman at Western Michigan. She's a DJ on the Univ radio station. The music is too much for the old Mom but she sounds great. Down stream her At WIDR for 9am to 12 on Fridays. One name on your guest list knocked me flat. Donnie Alecci. Be still my heart(smile). Hello to Nick and Joann. I miss it all every day.

Mewow! Great website. I saw you and Chris Chandler in Berkeley and San Francisco last week. A remarkable show; you should be on Broadway soon.
See You the next time you hit the left coast.

BTW, I seemed to have misplaced the DVD I bought, so if you see one autographed for a cat, let me know.

I noticed a "Roe" in the Washington Middle School student directory. Always interested in a "Roe," I looked you up. Don't think we're related. I do have a cousin, David Roe, from upstate NY though. My son, Paul Roe Minor, is in 6th grade at WMS.

Just noticed on the web for the first time that we share the same name, and also, a love for great music. Although I am a banker by trade, I played alto, tenor and baritone sax professionally for over 30 years. Hope to get to hear your music one of these days.
Keep up the good work !

I caught you and Chris Chandler at Joe's Cafe last night. Absolutely terrific! I especially enjoyed 9th Ward New Orleans and Something's In the Air. Powerful stuff. Keep it coming.

Hi David,
We have been watching the devastation in New Orleans with great sadness and anger... we cannot believe how poorly things were handled by "our" (i.e. the peoples') government over this past week....
Looked through our CD collection and found your "Street Jams (Recordings 1980-1998)" from when we visited Bourbon Street in 1999 over Labor Day Weekend. We were wandering through a near-empty bar and happened upon you playing...Your music inspired us to do a little swing dancing that night.... (I'm sure one of few Asian/White swing dancing couples you've encountered through the years. :-) ) We bought a CD from you that night and you autographed it for us.... Whenever we listen to it, it brings us back to our weekend vacation...
Anyways, we thought we'd look up you up on the web and am glad to see that you were able to make it out of New Orleans--but saddened to read of the conditions of your home... We were just out in DC recently and wish we could be there to hear you play in September!!
Any chance you'd come up towards Detroit and play around here sometime?
Keep spreading the spirit of New Orleans through your music... We hope that someday we will be able to visit the region again and hear you play....

Beautiful site DR. I just discovered the 4-track (yes, 4-track), 1/4" reel-to-reel tape from Mike and Sue Tuday's house, x-mas, '80. When I find a machine, I will digitize and distribute. Stay tuned. -- JR
